Today I changed a leaking hydraulic brake booster on a GMC pick up again because the part we used to replace the old one that was leaking a little was a re-manufactured unit by A1 cardone This unit worked good for about 2 weeks then it stated leaking A LOT. So much so that it was leaking fluid on the ground. This is not the first time our shop and many others (according to our parts supplier) have had to replace A1 Cardone parts more than ounce because they just don’t last. My co worker had to install a power steering rack on a Toyota Sienna 3 times because they would just keep leaking. Eventually we found a unit re-manufactured by someone other than A1 cardone and has not had any issues.

see picture below. Avoid any parts that come in a box like this. Trust me Do everthing you can to avoid this re-manufacturer they sell under different labels like duralast, even napa, sometimes carquest.

crap! avoid it, it might even have another label on it. but if it has that color scheme send it back or do it again

a1 cardone2

The only problem is that it’s very difficult to find a dealer alternative for a lot of the parts they sell. like power steering pumps, racks, calipers, master cylinders, and boosters. NAPA sometimes have a there brand thats not done by a1 cardone but not always.

end rant!
